To the Foster Family,

On behalf of the Charleston Base SUBVETS and Swamp Fox Chapter SUBVETS WWII, I offer you our sincere condolences on Johnnie's passing. We grieve with you on the loss of your loved one and all SUBVETS and their families have your family in our thoughts and prayers. There is no expiration date on the back of our dolphins and Johnnie will always be remembered as a Brother of the Phin and a great Patriot.

On a personal note, at the time Johnnie was COB on the Stonewall Jackson, I was COB on the Henry L. Stimson. We would get together in the offices during our offcrew time and I always left with information that would help me to be a better leader. He was a mentor to many of the COBs that knew him. He will be sorely missed in our Submarine community.
