I remember Uncle Johnny coming over when we lived (my mother Marjorie and I) at granny's house with my cousins. We always looked forward to him visiting cause we knew we'd have fun. I will miss Uncle Johnny, he is a model of the God-fearing considerate kind gentle yet no nonsense man, a human. I'd like to be.

Dearest Family,
All of us at the American Legion are sad to hear the news of the passing of your dear Mr. Johnny. May the God who wires us all to grieve do a marvelous work to heal your hearts as you go on a grief journey for a while. May He send a truck load of memories to bring you joy and peace. Yes, it is indeed time to LET THERE BE MEMORIES. Someone wrote, "healing comes through story." Keep telling those stories of as long as it takes. May the Lord bless you and fill your hearts with peace as you remember and reflect on the legacy of a servant. Served his country and served his family all these years. Now the mission is complete and it is time for his promised rest.
