My condolences to the Gaudreau Family and close friends, I can't imagine the grief your going through, he was stolen from us way to soon. He'll always be remembered for the loving person he was and family man, plus his adorable smile. I watched Johnny grow up and mature on the ice in Calgary, he had so much left to do. His legacy will live on in his children. He will never be forgotten.

RIP Johnny and Matty

Thank you for allowing the public to participate in the service. It was greatly appreciated.
God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Thinking of you,
love from Red Deer AB

Condolences to the Gaudreau family and friends on the untimely and tragic deaths of Johnny and Matthew. And to the Flames and Jackets fans too.

Johnny is the epitome of what a role model should be and is - kind, generous and an absolute professional on the ice. I only got to see him play once before I moved back home to Ireland, but I have one Flames jersey and it's a signed Johnny Gaudreau jersey. I will cherish it all the more now.

Love from Ireland

The great thing about "the Hockey World" is that it is a very tight knit family. It does not matter who you cheer for, who you like or dislike, its about a community that sticks together through thick or thin. One that has taught many of us life skills and how to act and be part of a Team.
To the entire Gaudreau family we will continue to keep all of you in are arms, you will feel the love and support around you. None of us know what you are going through but I ensure you there are many of us who will be there with you to just listen and help you get through this period in all of your lives.

Johnny never played on the team that I was rooting for, but every time he touched the puck you were filled with admiration of his skill and a feeling of 'oh oh' Johnny's got the puck, we're in trouble.
No matter what team you were pulling for, everybody loved Johnny Hockey. We are all gutted by this tragedy. As an avid cyclist, I find comfort in imagining that he and his brother Matthew were enjoying a wonderful moment together, happy to be together, in NJ at a time of celebration with their wonderful families. My heart aches for all of you. Please find strength and peace in their memories and the love for both of them that so many felt.

I remember watching you score the insurance goal in the NCAA championship game and the immense pride I personally felt that an undersized kid from Jersey put Ferris State away. I followed your career like so many others and I truly thank you for showing smaller forwards that they can have a home in the NHL. Thank you for all you did for the game and for NJ hockey as a hole. You and your brother helped out Jersey HS hockey on the map. Rest easy Johnny.

I was first introduced to hockey by my son David who is a huge hockey fan. He took me to see the Columbus Blue Jackets and that´s where I watch Johnny Gaudreau (Johnny Hockey) play for the first time. How could you not love him. He was so much fun to watch. I became an instant fan. My son bought season tickets for this season and we were so excited. We are devastated at this tragedy. I feel like I´ve lost a family member. Tears well up at the thought of what this poor family is facing. The loss is unimaginable. But I woke up this morning and told my son, Johnny has a son who they named Johnny. It may not happen in my lifetime, but one day another Johnny Gaudreau (Johnny Hockey) may one day be taking the ice. Our love and prayers to his family, friends, and fans. He was family to all of us

I have followed sports my whole life. Hockey players are the best, with their time, their humbleness, how they address reporters, direct eye contact. They play every night. Johnny & Matt were good people. Played big time College Hockey at 164 lbs & 11 yrs in NHL hockey at maybe 175 lbs. Kid was tough, but did not play violently out there. Just with skill, guile & keeping his head up at all times. Will try to honor their memory, by pounding my local politicians on even tougher DWI, 1 st time punishments & increasing MADD'S victim advocacy

I am broken. My most heartfelt condolences to the Gaudreau family. I´m so sorry for your loss, SO sorry. I loved Johnny Gaudreau. He was my favourite hockey player. You all deserved better, I can´t even imagine what you are going through losing 2 sons. To the wives of both Matthew and Johnny- I´m sorry. I don´t know any of you, but through the success and inspiration, as well as tremendous family values of both Johnny and Matthew, I know all of you. Thank you for allowing Johnny to sign in our small Canadian city. So many memories. Above it all, his kindness as a human being shines through. And I know Matthew was much the same. To their parents, Mama and Papa Gaudreau- you did a tremendous job raising 2 great men. I´m sad, and so sorry Gaudreau family. My most sincere condolences. To Johnny and Matthew- Rest In Peace. .

Met him in the locker room and then met him again when I was in the children´s hospital in Calgary. Johnny signed a picture of him and gave it to me and it said my name and best wishes. The picture is still framed in my room to this day. Johnny was my favourite and the reason I got into hockey he will forever rest in peace. FOREVER 13

I am so sorry for your family´s loss. I am truly sickened and heartbroken over this senseless tragedy. When I was at his first game with the Bluejackets, I witnessed his first goal with us. I couldn´t believe how fast he was on the ice. I truly couldn´t keep up with him. I was so thrilled and full of pride for my City, State, and team when I found out that Johnny Hockey wanted to come play for the Bluejackets. I pray that God will wrap His arms around all of you during this hard time, as you mourn the loss of Johnny and Matthew. I absolutely cannot imagine what your family is going through. The 5th Line has your support and your backs. RIP Johnny and Matthew!
