I worked with Johnny when he lived in Delaware. I learned an enormous amount from him. We would talk about how great the Almond Brothers were so it was no surprise to me when he ended up becoming part of that band. He was a great believer in fate. He was truly a one of a kind and a great talent and I was blessed to know him.

I was blessed to see this kind and supremely talented man sit in on an Allman Betts Band set at the winery in Nashville TN a few years back. It was my live show highlight of the year. RIP brother. One of the GOATs of our southern thang.

To the Neel Family,
It was a heart felt pain when we read Johnny had passed. He took keyboard lessons in our Elkton Md music Store MARS MUSIC AND ELECTRONICS.
Johnny was a good person. My wife and I would go see him play locally and one word out of our month's Blind he knew it was us. My father is now gone, and I Billy Jr live in the mountains of Colorado.
Our hearts are with you.
Joanne and William Mars Jr
