Mr. Johnny Odell Nevels

I remember John Nevels as our school Police Officer at Hamilton High. May he R.I.P.

Officer Nevels (aka Batman of Hamilton High) Looking back I see how much he cared for the young charges he helped to shape. It's probably because of him I've never had a problem with law enforcement, so caringly human.
I remember once to catch us smoking behind the gym, he clambered down from the very roof top to the steps awing and swung down from nowhere...we were so caught !!! God Bless your memory.

Mr. Nevells, may you R.I.P. Thank you for your service protecting us as students at Hami as well as your distinguished service in the Military. Our country appreciates you.

Thank you for all of your kind words! My Dad really was one of the most incredible people I've ever known and I have the unbelievable honor of being his daughter. To Anna and Monique he truly cared about all of the students he met. I was always impressed with his ability to remember you all. He often wondered how life was treating you and wished you well. :) I want to thank you and everyone who has posted kind messages about my Dad on the behalf of my family. Your kind words have brightened my day!

Dear Nevels Family, I would like to say how much I appreciated Johnny's service at Hamilton HIgh School, I would always remembering him telling me to get to class, but he always wanted us kids to succeed in life, and always had encouraging words for us all. He will be greatly missed, and like one of my friends said his great big smile, Miss U Johnny...

Dear Nevels Family, I'm very sorry for your loss. Mr. Nevels protected, served, mentored and valued the students and staff at Hamilton High School when I was a student there. He had an incredibly open heart for young people. All of us knew that there was someone watching our back when Mr. Nevels was around. Even in his passing I am lifted by memories of his humor, his authentic care, and that great big smile. He was a good man. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family at this difficult time.

Stephanie, Cassandra and Mrs. Nevels, I am very sorry for your loss. I know he was a very special father and husband and will be missed. And I know you will always hold dear all the wonderful memories of his life intertwined with yours. With love and light to you all!

Every memory I have of Johnny is a precious memory. He made certain he did everything in his power to make everyone welcome, and to insure that they were well accommadated. I know mom, especially loved him for that. And so did I.

Cassandra: My condolences on the passing of your father. I only met him a few times but I know from how you have turned out that he was a very good man. Many times in a good life you'll laugh until you cry and other times you'll cry until you laugh. I think that in the end, laughing and crying are more like cousins than strangers. I hope that as time passes, there will be more laughing for you as you look back on how fortunate you were to have had your father in your life with all the happiness and strength that he passed on to you.

We have planned a lovely celebration of our father's life!
