In memory of
Greg Curry
February 18, 2016
I just learned about Johnny's passing on Tuesday, Feb 16, 2016. Needless to say I was surprised and shocked because the news Barbara shared with me was totally unexpected. Even though this is after the fact, I felt compelled to make a few statements about Johnny. He was a great friend, in fact, he was the big brother I never had. We helped each other with a lot of things. He usually helped me more than I helped him. We hunted together many times and I was always amazed at his ability as a wing shooter. We shared many hunting stories, adventures and "life discussions." I cherish the memories of the time we spent as friends and the time I spent with him and his family. People like him don't cross your path every day, I feel fortunate that I was his friend.

Not sure if this is still open but just wanted to say I am thinking of you all. I have pictures of Johnny holding me when I was young. And glad I saw him in within past few years. I miss knowing and seeing Nanny and Sister's side of my family. Still love and think of you. Missy Edwards Avent: Frances Darby Edwards daughter.

Johnny Redding was one of the greatest persons I have ever known. He helped me every time I asked him while I was coaching at St. James in the early eighties. He didn't need to be asked, he always stepped up. He spent most of his weekends working on the athletic fields for free.
Johnny loved his angel of a wife Barbara and was so proud of his son. I will never forget how proud he was when we finally beat Trinity in football with little Johnny scoring the only touchdown. I recall him crying tears of joy days after the game.
God bless to the Redding family. I loved Johnny.

To the Redding family you have my deepest sympathy. As the days and weeks go by, find solace in your memories, they will help to sooth your soul. Also allow God to wrap his arms around you and give you the strength you need to endure.2 Corinthians 4:7
