Johnny Wong

Johnny is survived by Barbara, his beloved wife, his children Lindsay Estrada (Lee), Kent Wong (Nanette) and Sharyn Voss (Larry), 8 grandchildren, their spouses and 8 great-grandchildren. He was an alumnus of Watsonville High School, Hartnell College and San Jose State. He was a proud Air Force Veteran, serving in Japan during the Korean War. He met Barbara, a young coed at Cal, while on leave, visiting his sister in Berkeley. They were married a few years later, beginning a marriage of almost 67 years. They moved to San Jose, where he used the GI Bill to earn a BS degree in Industrial Technology. They bought a house and raised their 3 kids. Johnny worked at a number of satellite communications companies in Silicon Valley, rising to be the Manager of Operations. Almost 45 years later, and happily retired, they moved to Auburn, where they enjoyed being closer to family and made many new friends. He enjoyed travel with Barbara, golf with buddies and spending quality time with their rapidly growing family. He was a very kind and generous man, but most of all he was immensely proud of the family that he and Barbara built, creating a lasting legacy. He will be deeply missed. A memorial service is planned for 11 AM, August 5th at East Lawn Memorial Park at 4300 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento.
