Johnny Jerome Young

Johnny (Johnnie) Jerome Young was a native and resident of Baton Rouge, LA. He was born on January 27, 1963 and entered into eternal rest on February 23, 2023 at 1:55 p.m. at Baton Rouge General Mid City Butterfly Unit/Hospice Care. Johnny attended Robert E. Lee High School and served as a handyman, landscaper, and auto detailer within his Valley Park community. He is survived by sister, Evangelist Bertha L. Blakes; brother, Clyde Young; nephews, Deondre and Travis Young; great nieces, Ma'ryiah Veals and J'laya Decay; uncle, Sevear Young, Sr.; a host of family members and very close family friends, Dedra Burns, Kenneth Ray Simms, Vanessa Stewart, and his Valley Park friends. Johnny is preceded in death by his father, Solomon Young, Sr.; mother, Pinkie B. Young; brothers, Alexander and Larry Young; and grandparents along with a host of other family members. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Morning Star Full Gospel B.C., 2261 Balis Drive, Baton Rouge, LA from at 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Religious service begins at 10 a.m. conducted by Bishop Gregory Cooper, Sr. Interment: Southern Memorial Gardens. Services entrusted to Wilson-Wooddale Funeral Home.
