JOLENE "JO" SPEIDEL

Jolene "Jo" Speidel passed away at age 68 on March 31, 2017. Jo as young teen was a model for Nordstroms, later she graduated from the University of Washington where she was a cheerleader. After graduation she ran her own successful escrow company in the Seattle area and was able to retire at age 45.

Jo is survived by her mother, Betty Vincenzi of La Posada, and her husband, Fred Speidel of Green Valley.

At age 40, Jo was in need of a kidney transplant. Betty, it turned out, was a perfect match. So Betty was able to give Jo life a second time. After 28 years, the kidney was still operating at Jo's passing.

Jo had no children of her own, but when she married Fred she inherited his 5 families which included 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Because of Jo's love for people and her new role as "Grandma Jo," she became the hub of communication throughout the family by phone and texting. She will be missed greatly.

Her message was always positive and uplifting. She was generous to a fault and would assist any stranger in need. Her passions were remodeling, travel, entertainment, golf and cooking gourmet meals for family and friends.

Jo was a member of Desert Hills Lutheran Church, and a memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends.
