Jon visiting Senator Collins with ALPA pilots

July 6, 2017
My condolences to Jon's wife, family and loved ones. Jon and I were new hire classmates at Delta Airlines. We started as Boeing 727 flight engineers and worked our way to flying as Captains on the Boeing 737. I can't remember a single time that we did not share a laugh when our paths crossed. Jon would always share pilot information with me. I was always amazed with his grasp of the information and level of details. He was the first guy to finish a test back in ground school as new hires.
Jon and I attended an ALPA Legislative Summit in 2015. Here is a picture visiting Senator Collins. Godspeed Jon...

Jon and I were roommates senior year at Culver. He was a great guy - calm, earnest, fun, kind, funny, so innocent... I remember driving with his dad through Ohio (what's round on the ends and high in the middle -- O-HI-O). First time I saw a CB radio in operation. 10-4 good buddy. You will be missed.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you during this difficult time. I hope that the promise at 1 Thessalonians 4:14 will bring you comfort. Knowing that there is a future for the ones we have lost in death can be reassuring.

May you rest in eternal peace Jon. God gave you wings to fly while you were here on earth and now you have your real wings. Megan, you are in my thoughts and prayers and I am sure Jon was grateful to have you with him every step of his journey. I love you.

I was so saddened to hear of Jon's passing. I knew him at Culver Military Academy and at Northwestern and he was a bright and wonderful human being. He will be missed.

Jon was instantly a friend when we met as mutual members of the Catboat Association. His wonderful, friendly and positive demeanor was loved and appreciated by all of us. I'm sure he will be keeping a watchful eye on his boating (and flying!) friends from his heavenly perch. Fair winds Jon!

On behalf of the 69th Infantry Next Generation group, we offer our condolences to Jon's wife and family.
It was an honor and pleasure to travel across Europe with Jon, his father Bob and Uncle Ted in remembrance of his grandfather.
We also had the pleasure of his company in Washington D.C. at an annual reunion, it is not often someone you have known for a short period can have such a profound effect.
We are saddened by the loss, yet grateful we knew him.
