Jon Anderson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 8, 2024.
Jon Drew Anderson, 62, of Prestonsburg, Kentucky passed away on June 22, 2024.

He was born in Ashland, KY to parents, Clarice Henry (Anderson) Clark and Jon C. Anderson. Drew was raised by Clarice and stepfather, Charles W. Clark.

Drew proclaimed at age 8, he would one day become an attorney and he did just that. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Cincinnati, then earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law. Drew had the most genuine heart and loved many things: his family and friends, reading and studying history, music, traveling, practicing law, cheering on the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, and his beloved University of Kentucky Wildcats. He was faithful member of the Episcopal Church and it was his relationship with the Lord he cherished most.

Drew was preceded in death by his mother, Clarice H. Clark. He is survived by his stepfather, Charles W. Clark, father, Jon C. Anderson, and stepmother Jan Anderson; sisters, Stephanie Booth (Matthew), Mandy Mosteller (Christopher), and brother, Travis Anderson (Carol), along with several nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at St. Raphael's Episcopal Church, 1891 Parkers Mill Rd, Lexington, KY 40504, on August 17, 2024, at 12:00 Noon. Fellowship and brunch will be at the church immediately following. clarklegacycenter.com

I have so many wonderful memories of Drew as a child. At first he would come to visit his grandmother and always added to the fun of summer time. We all loved to play in the woods and had wonderful adventures. When he would go back to Arkansas we would write letters back and forth. He was my first and only penpal. I looked forward to his visits to Ashland, and was thrilled when they finally moved to the area. Drew was a fun loving kid and was smart as a whip. Even though we ran in different circles in high school we always had Gartin Ave. That is the last place I remember seeing Drew. I went up to visit his Grandma and Grandpa Gussler to introduce my baby boy. That was 34 years ago. We went to different colleges and took different paths in life but in my heart he was always my friend and the world seems smaller without him in it. Prayers for all of his family!
