With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jon Walter Deacon affectionately known by many as "Deacon". Born May 12, 1942 in Leominster, Massachusetts to Walter and Agnes Deacon.

Jon graduated from Leominster high school in 1960. Following high school graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy. Served four years active duty also two years reserve. He received honorable discharge August 1966. Jon married his beloved wife, Cecile in October 1965. Together they started a family and had four children. He went on to work for Weyerhaeuser, James, River, and Munskjo paper. He was president of Fitchburg Pop Warner, where he had so many fond memories of coaches and kids. After retiring in 2003, he moved to Parrish, Florida and later on to Sarasota. He loved his wife, his family, friends, and his most of all his country. He was a proud patriot, he could get along with anyone and made everyone feel at home. He was honest, had great work ethic, respected his neighbors and friends, and always willing to lend a hand. He love to cook, garden, took pride in his yard, and home. Loved taking his family to Maine for vacation and most of all he cherish his family's gatherings.

He is survived by his wife, Cecile of 59 years, children; Monica Simmons, Todd Deacon, Laura Flood(Tom)and Jon Ross Deacon. Jon took pride in being a grandfather/papa to Robert Stitham, Todd Simmons, Brianna Diaz, Tyler Deacon, and Morgan Windsor. Great grandchildren Robert Stitham Jr., Jayden Stitham, Paisleigh Skinner and Eliana Diaz. Brother Ross Deacon, Sister-in-law Lois DeLong and nieces and nephews.He will be forever loved and greatly missed.
