Jon McHugh Obituary
Jon was born on June 14, 1939, to Lea and Bernice McHugh. Jon grew up in Beaver and went to school in Plainview. He was married on Aug. 29, 1986, to Mary Ann Hetrick. He worked as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator for Winona County for 30 years. Jon enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was a jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed working on his house and spending time on his golf cart with his dog Gunner.
Jon is preceded in death by his parents, Lea and Bernice McHugh; his brother, Richard McHugh; and his great-grandchild, Clayton Pearson.
Jon is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann McHugh; his children, Tony McHugh (Leah Himmer), Jeff McHugh (Becky), Kim McHugh (Susan), Melissa Hetrick (Michelle Spears), Tammy Schneider, and David Kleinschmidt, as well as his grandchildren, Jesse McHugh, Andrea Dessner (Bobby), Lyna Koepsell (Korey), Cassie McHugh (Jake Pearson), Lisa Oredson (Mitch), Danielle, Trista, Jake, Allie and Kaden; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug, 16, at Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview, and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview, with the Rev. Phil Augustine officiating. Burial will follow at the Beaver Cemetery.
