JON PENTLAND Obituary
JON L.
Age 79, of Moon Township, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014. Originally from Neville Island, Jon was born on March 18, 1935, to the late James C. and Eileen F. (Selzer) Pentland. Beloved father of Mark James Pentland (Elaine), Victor James Pentland, Cynthia Ann Post (Carl), and Michael James Pentland; also the late David Jon Pentland and deceased infant daughter, twin of Cynthia; cherished grandfather of James Pentland (Valerie), Justin Pentland (Nicole), Megan Silvis, Adam Silvis, Keith Pentland, and Erika Pentland; loving great- grandfather of Charlie Antoinette Pentland and Elliana Marie Pentland. Jon was the former owner of Corpen Bowling Lanes, established in 1960. He was a member of many local clubs. He was a United States Marine. Jon loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Jon also enjoyed traveling. Visitation Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at COPELAND'S CORAOPOLIS, 867 Fifth Ave., where prayers will be recited on Monday at 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass at St. Joseph Church. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in Jon's name to "Big Sky Kids" of Montana.

Pentland family our thoughts, prayers, and condolences goes out to your family. Your presby family has all taken out the time to pay respects silently for your lost. Jon was a true Marine buddy. On "liberty" I shared many pizzas with Jon and he always had some really hot pepper seeds to add that his Dad sent him.
He was in our wedding in Florence, Alabama on a hot July day without air-conditioning. He kidded a lot about that day and the southern accents and phrases.
He always called on Nov. 11 to celebrate the Marine Corps birthday. During the call we each tried to out-boast the other about our kids, grandkids, fish we caught or game we took.
I'll miss him.
Although we've never met, please accept my condolence and know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of Jon's family.
