I met Jon, about 12 years ago. We spent numerous nights in an Oregon Hotel, sharing a room while Jon was applying his brilliance to a harvesting issue in the Klamath Lake. I loved a recent interview of Jon and sent this link to many of my friends. https://www.buzzsprout.com/2196020/14273167
Jon enriched my life and I miss him.
Thank you Jon!

I hadn´t seen Jon since highschool, but I have many wonderful memories with him. He sat behind me in math class our junior year and every day he would write his name on the back of my white blouse. We went fishing a lot and broke down in the old Ford pickup once or twice. I also remember his beloved family dog, Kiawah, who went a little crazy over squirrels. My deepest condolences to Jon´s family and friends.

Thoughts and prayers for you Doug, Dorthea and the girls. Memories of the boys from grade school through high school. They were always trying to out smart us. May God carry you through in the days that lie ahead.

Jon quickly became a most treasured friend. His generosity in time and resources allowed me to learn and grow in ways that are continuing to help others. I'm so grateful to have known him and, God willing in whatever way I can, hopefully let his legacy in reverence of water continue to flow. Condolences to his kin as they carry on. -Brian

Going to miss you! No doubt you had the most influence on my life than anyone... From our days as as Alter Boys in 7th & 8th grade (when you would nudge me to ring those bells 3 times which I never understood) to skateboarding, guitar, basketball, football (where you made that miraculous catch over your shoulders in 8th grade at Byers field), Jimi Hendrix, Gordon Lightfoot, Fishing, Camping, Sailing... etc... Oh... and Riding our bikes with golf clubs on our shoulders at age 14 to go play at Big Met or Emerald Woods... To this day I have never seen anybody else riding bikes carrying golf clubs! OR trying to raft down the Rocky River in the roughest spot on "senior cut day" at which point my Mom quickly picked me up despite your best effort to "call me off, sick."
Farewell & Following Seas my friend!

Jon was our neighbor for 19 years. What a great guy! We had lots of fun hanging out & shared many meals together. A great guitarist & philosopher of life.
