Jonathan Hunter "Bigin" Carter

Jonathan Hunter Carter, affectionately known as Bigin, passed away on July 19, 2024, in Farmville, Virginia, at the age of 27. Born on January 29, 1997, in Chesterfield County, Virginia, Jonathan grew up with a vibrant spirit and a deep love for his community and nature.

Jonathan graduated from Powhatan High School and continued his education at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. His professional life included valuable contributions at Fresenius Kidney Care, Wheelers Painting Service and Applebee's, where he was appreciated by both colleagues and customers for his dedication and warm personality.

A devoted member of Graceland Baptist Church, Jonathan's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He lived his beliefs through acts of kindness and his unconditional love for others.

Jonathan's zest for life was evident in his hobbies. He was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan, and he often spent his time fishing, hunting, and camping-activities that brought him closer to nature and offered him great joy.

He leaves behind his parents, Ronald Carter Jr. and Lisa Stapleton Carter; his sister and brother-in-law, Tiffany and Berkeley Wrenn; his niece, Moriah Maelie Wrenn; Baby Wrenn; his paternal grandmother, Ruth Ann Moore Carter; and his best friend, Austin Wheeler along with his wife, Sami. Jonathan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Donald and Lois Stapleton; paternal grandfather, Ronald Carter Sr.; and his sister, Amy Nicole Carter.

A celebration of Jonathan's life will be held on August 17, 2024, at Graceland Baptist Church in Powhatan, Virginia, at 11:00 am. His life was a beacon of hard work, devotion, and deep love, and he will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
