In memory of
Jim and Sue Syverson and Schroeder
March 26, 2003
We have been regular customers at the Bryant Avenue Shoe Shop. Although we did not know Jonathan well, we feel that we have lost part of our community. We will miss Jonathan's quiet, friendly and helpful demeanor.

Sad to have heard about the difficulties Jon and his family had been going through. As with others, we have fond memories from so many years ago while members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the active youth group. I can only hope that God has prepared a great place for Jon and had another purpose for this gentle soul.

Dear Joanne - Your husband was a very special person and his loss will be deeply felt by many. Your sister Char has told me so many wonderful things about him - it sounds like he really tried to make this world a better place for all of us. His accomplishments will live on in you, your family and the lives of all he touched. May you find peace and love in his memory.

We are so sad to hear of this loss. Jon was a great guy; we enjoyed having him as a neighbor for many years and then of course eventually having his mom as a neighbor as well! We have memories of Jon's VW bugs in the yard and of course annual block parties. We knew him just slightly, in passing, when we lived in the house on Bryant Ave, right next to his shop. Years later we moved to Pillsbury Ave and to our surprise, Jon lived 1 house over from us! Remembering too, his taking Andy everywhere on the trailer behind his bike. And he and Joanne were wonderful to us when Lois Rogers (another neighbor) died. He will be missed and remembered - Laurie & Jim

To Jon's family. My Dad Bob Philipp sold his beloved Honda back in the 80's I believe to Jon at the shoe shop, because my Dad knew Jon would love it like my Dad did. Maybe they can meet now in heaven and talk Cycle talk.

Joanne-I was shocked and deeply saddened when I heard of Jon's death. He was such an easy guy to like. Jacob, Paul and Peter really liked "Andy's dad" because he always played fun outdoor games with them. He knew how to enjoy life and appreciate the things that were really important. We will miss him lots!! My heart goes out to you Joanne, and my prayers are with you, Andy and Karl. Kim Hagen

John was a great guy - I knew him from the Shoe Shop - he was always very friendly and sweet, and he will be greatly missed, especially by the folks on Bryant Avenue South. My prayers and thoughts are with John's family - God Bless you.

Joanne,Karl & Andy I extend my deepest sympathy to all of you. Please know that you are in my prayers and my thought. I truly respected Jon and enjoyed every moment I had the chance to spend visiting with him over the past 15 years. I was very heartbroken when I heard the news but I also was relieved he no longer had to suffer. I am very sad that you had to loose him so early in all of your lives but he is now a peace and will always be your guardian angel from above. Pat & Shaleen Perry
