Jonathan PENNER Obituary
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of family on Friday, May 27, 2016 at the age of 53. Beloved husband of Shirli Penner (nee Czik). Jon also leaves to mourn his parents Clancy and Mary Anne Penner, sisters Mary Doull (Ron), Helen Penner, Dorothy-Anne Penner, Dee Cambells- Whitmarsh (Sean), his brother Angus Penner (Anita), his nephews Drew, Evan, Alex, and his nieces Ashleigh and Jessica. Jon was predeceased by his mother Peggy as well as his grandparents. Special thanks to the health care team at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus for their care and kindness. Family and friends may attend a Funeral Service at

on Monday, May 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. followed by interment at Jewish Memorial Gardens, 6549 Herberts Corners Road, Osgoode, ON, K4P 1H3. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can either be made to Temple Israel Ottawa or a tree may be planted in Jon's memory through the Jewish National Fund of Canada www.site.jnf.ca. Condolences and Sharing Memories may be made at www.kellyfh.ca

Jon was a great human being. Kind and ready to help. Thoughts and prayers for strength and courage to Shirli and the entire family. Jon is in a place where he will forever be happy and at peace.

Although I hadn't yet met Jon in person, I felt as if I'd known him a long time because of my long-distance friendship with his wife Shirli.
It was abundantly clear how much they loved each other; and what joy they took from their marriage and life together.
