Dear family of Big Jon Perkins,

I worked with Jon for a few seasons at Wachusett Tree. I was just 19 when I started, and brand new to the tree care industry. Right away I could see that Jon was tremendously talented at whatever he did be it his hobbies, or his craft. He amazed me with his problem solving abilities and incredible sharp-mindedness. We had some good times working together, I still have a fat stack of Grateful Dead bootlegs he gave me, and I will play them all in his memory. I'm not sure he knew it or not but he really was an important influence and positive impact on me. He opened the door of tree care to me, and now I am an accomplished climbing arborist in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. I was deeply saddened to hear about his accident at work and I wanted you to know that I really thought he was an amazing individual and just a great guy. I'm glad to have known him and owe much of my success in my young career to him. I'm sorry I couldn't make it up for the service but I thought the money I would have spent on gas would be better to go to the fund for his kids.
