My favorites uncle!
My dad, Cheung Hum Kim, and Uncle Song were Yi-Joong junior high school class mates. The junior high school called "Yi-Joong" was known for the gifted students in Pyong Yang, North Korea.
Uncle Song was always so much fun to be around. I remember our family arriving at the Kennedy Airport in September of 1968 from Sweden. Your dad, your family, and the Kim's from Bergenfield picked us up from the airport. I still remember clearly sitting in a huge blue station wagon and crossing over the George Washington Bridge. That awesome feeling is very alive in my heart and, the GWB is still my favorite bridge. The last time I spoke with him he told me that at work when the customers refer him as " Uncle" he helps them immediately, but when they call him " Grad-father" he
pretends he didn't hear them.
Yes, we are all blessed with amazing dads who brought us to this beautiful country we call home.
