Jorgen Fog

Jorgen passed away peacefully on February 12, 2024 with family by his side, just over three weeks after celebrating his 97th birthday. Jorgen was born in Fort Ransom, North Dakota on January 23, 1927. His parents, Peter and Karen (Bredkjaer) Fog, immigrated to the United States from Denmark. He grew up on his family farm in Lisbon, North Dakota, the fifth of seven siblings. He was a loving brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a proud Dane.

Jorgen was a proud World War II Navy veteran and served on a minesweeper in the South China Sea. After the war, he earned a two-year degree in Accounting from Wahpeton Technical College in North Dakota before working at the Grain Terminal Association in St. Paul, where he met his future wife, Patricia Graff. He later became a District Manager in northwestern Minnesota for National Farmers Union Insurance. He and Patricia were married for 70 years and had four children.

Jorgen is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Karen, and his siblings, Marie, Peter, Asgar, and Holger. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Fog; children, Jeff (Barb), Linda, Steven (Charlene), and Michelle (Bill); siblings, Anna and Gunnar; grandchildren, Steve, Katie, Cody, Josey, Lindsey, and Justin; and eight great-grandchildren. There will be a private interment at Oakwood Cemetery in Lisbon, North Dakota. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date for family and friends.
