Jose "Joe" Gutierrez

Bernadette I just learned of Joe's passing and I am heart broken. I have so many memories working with Joe at EGMC and with both you at your DME company. My prayers are with you and your family.

I was just visiting Eliz. for the 1st time in 18yrs, and on the last reunion we had at the Cuban club he went to say hi, i remember playing baseball against each other in are teen years. Totes was my childhood friend since the early 1970's. Remember him always making you feel warm and comfortable with all his laughter. He will be missed very much. With deepest condolences to his family.

This has to be one of the saddest days not only in my life but in the life of all those that Joe touched with his humor and generosity over the years. I have known Joe since the early 70's through his cousin Joe Alvarez. No one ever gave of himself so completely to the kids and people of Elizabeth as he did. We all lost a true friend today and can pay tribute to him by carrying on his great gift of doing all that we can for the children of Elizabeth. My heart and prayers go out Bernadette, Katie and young Joe.

My deepest sympathy to "Coach Joe's" family. I will always remember the laughs and good times we all had at Elmora Youth League. It was a pleasure knowing such a gentleman. You will be deeply missed. God Bless you and your family.

Joe worked in the Department of Health and Human Services when he started at City Hall. He was a well-mannered and gentle man who cared about people, which is a rarity today. He was well liked by all. May God grant him rest where there is no pain, sorrow or suffering.
