A kind-hearted man who lived his College. He demonstrated same by supporting with his finances even in his very old age. He has paid his dues in full to the College that raised him. May his soul find eternal rest with his maker.

Prof. Adjaye was a very warm person: that kind of lecturer whose classes you'd always be looking out for! I remember him fondly for one-time hosting us in his Adjiringano home (Accra, Ghana) to complete the syllabus for that semester. He gave us food and drove us in his car! Such a kind person he was! As someone who benefitted from his scholarship scheme at the Department of History in Legon, I am very grateful to his family for giving me the chance at higher education. I have admission to do my PhD in History at Georgetown this fall and I was looking forward to breaking the news to Prof one of these days only to be met with the news of his demise. This is really heartbreaking! I knew he'd not been well for awhile but least expected this sudden demise. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. God strengthen you.

My condolence and prayers to the family of Professor Joseph Adjaye. I had the honor of knowing Joe, and the opportunity of working with him in the African Studies Program at the University of Pittsburgh. He was a good man, loved his work and enjoyed taking groups of educators for study tours in Ghana and other countries in West Africa. It was through him that I was able to visit the beautiful country of Ghana. And in return we also travelled together to East Africa (Tanzania and Kenya) so he could also visit my home country and region. May his soul Rest in Eternal Peace and may God grant comfort to the family during this difficult time of grief.
