I just recently and sadly learned of Joel´s passing. . I had the good fortune to be his roommate during our first year as medical students at U of Rochester , NY . He was a kind , generous and very thoughtful person and always a very good friend- and it was an honor to have him as a "best man "at my wedding. I last had dinner with him when we were both on medical assignments in Hawaii some years ago but we frequently communicated. Farewell good friend.
