I often reflect on Dr. Barkett. What an incredible
man!

Dear Cousin Marie and all the Barkett Family:
Helene joins me in sending our deepest sympathies and condolences to all of the family on Joe's passing. What a great man and a true gentlemen in every sense of the word. We remember vividly the cute story he told us a few years ago about growing up in Lebanon and how his mother would keep having to seal the cracks in the hardened dirt floors with water to keep the fire ants from coming up and stinging them all.
He came from such poor beginnings and along with you, Marie built a veritable dynasty.
He will be sorely missed by all.
A man of great quality has left us.

There are so many wonderful memories over so many years going back to our childhood in the old neighborhood that I can recall - so many and I am so grateful for each one. Thank you, Joe.

And I sincerely thank Marie as well. She is so special; I will keep her in my prayers daily.

I am so sorry to hear of the Doctors passing, I recently had lunch with him. I will always hold close to my heart with much gratitude the good advise he gave to me and the thirty years plus he gave me the opportunity to do business with him. He will be missed. Sincerely, Tony Dominguez

My Mother tells me a story of how Dr Barkett saved her life. I will be eternally grateful for that, a truly sweet and genuine man , I could not have asked for a greater Godfather, may God hold you always near.

Joe Barkett, MD, was a kind generous man, compassionate doctor, who contributed much to his community and government and a good friend. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Marie and family,
I'm devasted after learning that my oldest friend dating back to 1954 has passed away. I enjoyed every second of Joe's company at our lunches and during our time at the San Joaquin General Hospital. He was a great physician, friend and humanitarian and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. I shall miss his friendly smile and friendship forever. Although only knowing Dr. Barkett for a little over 4 years, I always enjoyed our vlsits and talks about the politics and the world he had seen and been a part of in his life. He was a good man and surely will be missed by family and friends.

I admired and appreciated Dr. Barkett very much. I wish I had dropped in to visit him more often as he always warmly invited me to do. Dr. Barkett was an incredibly illustrious gentleman: a true pillar to our community and the state of California as well. My sympathy to his family and to all whom he touched.

He will be greatly missed. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to know Joe. He was such a blessing. His kind, loving smile will always be in my memory.
