Joseph Bedi

Joseph Richard Bedi, better known as Richard Bedi, was born to George Richard Holman and Tammy Bedi on November 27, 1985, and was later adopted by Kanwar Bedi. He died suddenly on December 26, 2024, in Bangor, Maine, at the age of 39.

Richard grew up in Jackson, MS before he and his family moved to Brandon, MS, where he attended Northwest Rankin Middle and High School. He would go on to attend the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science in his later years in high school before graduating from Mississippi State University and beginning a career as a medical laboratory scientist. A true Renaissance man, Richard possessed a rare combination of intellect and handiness that he has passed down to his siblings and children. He was just as likely to ponder philosophy or solve a mathematical equation as he was to create a piece of jewelry from scratch or share his eclectic taste in music.

Richard is survived, and dearly missed, by his wife, Sarah Bedi, and their two sons, Eli Preston Bedi and Cameron Parker Bedi; siblings Joshua, Damini, and Magdalene; and parents Tammy and Kanwar. He will be laid to rest next to his grandfather, Pete Holman, his first true hero.

Richard's celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 18, 2025, at Wells United Methodist Church, 2019 Bailey Ave, Jackson, MS 39213-7602 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, his family asks for donations to Sound Mind: https://www.soundmindlive.org/donate
