Born Feb. 10, 1924 in Loyalhanna, he was the son the late Joseph Blazek and Rozella Pearl Hartman Blazek.
He was a member of the Black Lick United Methodist Church.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran in World War II, serving in the South Pacific with the 59th Battalion Seabees.
He retired as an instructor and director of training at Insurance Technical Training Institute of Dallas, Texas and Charlotte, N.C.
He was also a former instructor at Vale Technical Institute formerly of Blairsville.
He was a self-employed electrician and farmer.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. A member of Acacia Lodge F & AM 355, and Honorary member of Steelcreek Lodge 339 Charlotte, N.C.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy L. Libengood Blazek, Blairsville; three children; David Lee and wife Jean, Leavanworth, Ks.; Richard Allen and wife Irene, Blairsville; Deborah Lorriane Clawson and husband William, Blairsville;
Also eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a great-grandson, Austin Michael Atwood; and a sister, Barbara Eleanor Nelson.
Burial Mass was celebrated at the Black Lick United Methodist Church Tuesday. The VFW 5821 and the American Legion conducted Military Honors.
Interment was in Twin Valley memorial Park, Delmont.
Memorial donations may be made to the Black Lick United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 435, Black Lick, Pa. 15716 or the Make A Wish Foundation.
