Joseph Brickey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 10, 2019.
It is with great sadness that the family of Joe Brickey, 63, announces his passing on May 20, 2019, after a 26 year struggle with a heart condition he acquired while serving his country in Greece for the United States Air Force.

Joe will lovingly be remembered by his wife and best friend of 19 years Dalynn Brickey, his children: Daniel (Lora), James (Tess), Christopher (Esperanza),  Jenny and Andrew, his grandchildren: Jaide, Rheagan, Brandon, Brittney, Jordan and Julia, his parents: Joe, Sr. and Shirley, his siblings: Rosemary (Jerry), Ginny, Susan (David), David and nine nieces and nephews.

Joe was born in Norton, Virginia and had recently returned to his birth state and settled in Crozet. Joe loved the Lord and lived it.  He and Dalynn lived their life to the fullest as much as they could and it radiated from their relationship to all who knew them.

A celebration of his life will be held at Gracebuilt Church in Waynesboro, Virginia on June 23, 2019 at 4:00 PM. There will be a graveside service with Military honors at Culpepper National Cemetery on June 24, 2019 at 12:00 Noon.

There will also be a celebration of life in Roseville, California at Metro Calvary Church on July 13, 2019 at 1:00 PM, where he had lived for many years prior to coming back to Virginia.

Dalynn requests that in lieu of flowers, please make a Donation in memory of Joe to one of his favorite charities: Gracebuilt Church Faithful To Finish or Meals on Wheels/Charlottesville, Virginia or Placer County California.

Even though I hadnt seen you in a few years I have good memories of you when we was very young and when you came to visit us in Ky as a teenager. You was a lot of fun to hang out with. Too bad we did not get to know each other and be around each other more but I am so happy that I got to spend the time with you That I did. I am very happy for Facebook because at least we could talk on there and see pictures of each other and each others families in their lives. You will be missed by many. I love you cuz. I will meet you in heaven .

Joe, It is with a broken heart, I bid you farewell in this life. You were a beautiful, sweet, loving child that brought so much happiness to me and your Mom and later as a young man to all who knew you. You lived a dedicated Christian life that was a model for us all. We were so proud of you as a member of the US Air Force where you served your Country for over 20 years. You were a true patriot that stood firm for conservative values and those principles for which so many young men and women have given their lives. There are no words that can truly convey our sadness and grief at you passing. You will be in our thoughts, our memory, and our hearts until we embrace you again in that land where there is no death, grief, or parting. Be looking for me, I'll see you soon. Love always and forever, Dad
