Joseph BRUNNER Obituary
December 30, 1927 - March 17, 2012
Joseph Carl Brunner, our beloved husband, friend and father, peacefully went to be with his Lord on March 17, 2012 at age 84.
Born on December 30, 1927 in a farmhouse near Hanna, Alberta, Joe lived a full and adventurous life, as a missionary in Trinidad and Tobago, a minister in Red Deer and Three Hills and a rancher and school bus driver in Elk Point, Alberta. He loved people and throughout his life devoted himself selflessly to the good of others. He treasured his wife and family, horses, and memories of his youth on the farm. He enjoyed old time music, painting, writing and history. Generous, warm, kind and respected by many, Joe met life's challenges with humour and courage.
He is survived by his wife Sandy, his children Barry (Judi), Kenton (Sheldina), Laurilee (Vaughn), Shelley (Muryl), Leland (Lauri), Holly (Marvin), Sheldon (Andrea), and stepchildren Janet (Brad), Darlene (Joel) and Kevin (Dia). Joe is also survived by 25 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, five brothers and one sister.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Joe's life will be held at West Edmonton Christian Assembly, 6315 - 199 Street, Edmonton on Friday, March 30 at 2:00 p.m. Gifts to cancer research in Joe's memory are appreciated in lieu of flowers.
