Age 87, of Wexford, passed on May 25, 2019. Son of George and Elizabeth (Evans) Bullick. Beloved husband for 66 years to Emma (Hall). Father of Stephen (Diana) Bullick and Elizabeth (Bill) Bender. Proud grandfather of Gayle (Joe) Tarowsky, Billy (Carrie) Bender, Lori Bender, and Scott Baret. Step-grandfather of Rennique and Rianan Ellison and Lori (Derek) Geraci. Brother-in-law to Dorothy (the late Clarence) Thomas, Betty (the late Merle) Sumpter, Midge (Jim) Elser, and the late Vera and Roy Lockhart. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He loved baseball, and was a former player and manager of the Warrendale baseball team. His friendships were far reaching in the United States as well as globally, as he was an honorary member of the New Ross County Wexford Pipe Band in Ireland, visiting the Vatican with them for the closing of the Millennium Gates, and being instrumental in arranging for them to perform in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Pittsburgh. An avid historian, Joe was the founder of the North Allegheny History Museum, which led to the construction of the McCandless/Northern Allegheny Heritage Center. Joe loved to write, having authored two books and a monthly Town Crier article in the Northern Connections magazine. An employee of North Allegheny School District for 46 years, Joe began as a custodian, eventually becoming Supervisor of Custodial Services for the school district. Throughout his career, Joe was involved with students, coaching the North Allegheny girls' golf team for 12 years and the girls' softball team for 17 years. He was a member of the NA Spirits Hall of Fame. Family and friends received Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the GEORGE A. THOMA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 10418 Perry Hwy, Wexford, PA 15090. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wexford. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church. Time has been a blur the past year. But Joe and I stayed connected over the years going way back to the 70s when I worked at NASD. I sent a xmas card and it was returned and feared he was gone. Such a great human being. Hope to see you again on the other side my friend.

Joe was a true, honest gentleman who went beyond the call of duty to help and assist, attributes which I witnessed first hand when I visited Wexford County with the New Ross Pipe Band. Any difficulties that arose Joe was on hand to smooth things over. He was a magnificent host during our visit. We remained in contact over the years . Some time had passed before I became aware of Joe's passing. I will always cherish the memories and the experience of meeting Joe Bullick

Mr. Bullick was my hero from day 1 at Ingomar school. I was the youngest child in the school, and not the most graceful. The first day, first grade, age 5, I slipped in the school entry on a rainy day and fell and he was there to pick me up. Always cheerful, always smiling and always spreading happiness to those around him. I am sure that his passage through the gates of heaven was swift. God bless him. Deepest sympathies, Mary J Wall

Joe was such a great man, a wonderful coach and friend. Always went out of his way to be kind. When we moved out of the area he used to mail me copies of the Northern Connection because he knew I missed home. God bless you Joe, I know heaven is even a better place with you in it.

Sympathy to the Bullick family, "Uncle Joe" was a part of my family nearly all my life since my dad George worked at NA as a custodian for many years. We kept in touch and he always had great stories for me. He will be missed. I can see Joe and my dad having a cup of coffee now and catching up. A good man.

I would like to express sincere condolences from everyone in the New Ross Pipe Band from Wexford, Ireland. Joe was a great friend of ours going back to our visit to Wexford PA in 2000 and again in 2003 and we had the pleasure of Joe's company on our visit to the Vatican in 2000 and on a number of band visits to Scotland. He was a man to whom the term 'legend' truly applies. Our Irish blessing is 'Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam' (phonetic pronunciation is - Er Yesh Day gu rev a anem' which translates literally as - 'May his soul rest at God's right hand' .

Saddened to hear of Joe's passing. Prayers of comfort and peace to all members of his family. He was one very unique man, always a smile, friendly greeting, and positive attitude to all. A man of faith, dedication, and service to others. As our daughter's NA softball coach in junior high, he made the game serious but fun; so much so it convinced her to continue playing until graduation. The honor of knowing Joe and the privilege of being associated with him through many years with North Allegheny softball are memories that are cherished. Joe leaves us here, but the place prepared by our Lord welcomes a truly Christian man.

We are going to miss this wonderful man who spent his life serving others. I am so privileged to be a part of his family and will cherish every memory spent with Joe and his precious wife, Emma. We will be in prayer for the family during their loss. Joe was like a second dad to me when I lost both of my parents. I will always be grateful for all that he and his family did to help my brother who is his son-in-law and me during our loss. My husband and I will miss Joe who always welcomed us back home to PA by meeting us at the Bob Evans Restaurant. Most importantly, he loved our Lord and Savior and lived his life to please Him.
