In memory of
Danielle Barrett
November 26, 2013
I have the fondest memories of Uncle Art, working alongside my father at the camp, and laughing and joking by the fire. I smile when I think of the hayrides, the snowmobiling, the General Lee, the bon fires that had the birds chirping and coyotes howling, & all the trips we took. Holidays and family gatherings were never dull. One of my earliest memories is depicted in a picture that my parents have of Aunt Laurel and Uncle Art when they visited one Christmas Eve – I still remember that night, and the awe when they told me they saw Santa flying in the sky on their way over. Uncle Art knew how to have fun, laughter followed him, and he made everyone feel loved. He was one of the most free-spirited, genuine people I've ever known. He lived his life true to the saying “live well, love much, and laugh often.” I am grateful that he was a part of our lives, and will hold onto the memories. Love, Danielle, Brian, Matthew, and Eden

To My Brother (Joe) (Art) but always was
   Junior to me...
Some of my best memories are the pie eating contest with Anne Marie, our Lk George (Lucille) trip in the rack truck, our stays @ the Cambridge Hotel & honoring the American Flag, camping in Chestertown & having to fight the enemies, Lk.Placid Exhibition & our trip to Nassau in the Bahamas. My list goes on & on what great memories & fun times we had...
He will surely be missed by me.
  Love Him,
     Don

Art was my fun loving brother-in-law with a great sense of humor. I knew him for 54 yrs. & he always had a trick up his sleeve. This all started when Don & I borrowed Pa's car for our honeymoon & he wanted to call the police & report the car stolen, Laurel talked him out of it & for once he listened.
We've spent many fun weekends at our camp in Hebron with all our kids & one time Art & Don thought of a special name for one of us gals to answer to it & I had to be the one to reply to them. Art never let me forget my pet name. On another occasion Art also made a grand entrance by tripping in the door of the camp & he never dropped his hat when doing just that.
We all loved him very much & still do & he loved his kids dearly, his grandsons & all his nieces & nephews & have to say they loved him also.
Art, I will always love you & you will be in my thoughts & prayers.
 Till we meet again,
   Anne Marie

Laurel and Alice,
It was a pleasure & an honor to know Art---Dad. With his impish grin & quiet manner we never knew what prank he was up to next. We were the brunt of his jokes more then once. Also we often speak of our mini-vactions we shared & laughed till we cried especially over Art's Little Pink Nightie & of course smoke (( Kools )) antics to just mention a few.
Chuck enjoyed the mens hunting trips where everybody played like they were sleeping intil someone else got out of a warm bed to put a log on the fire. Chuck & Art's favorite game was watching Don's beer teeter on his lap before falling & waking Don up.
All of this is only a few of our many memories we have & will treasure.
We miss you dear friend & you will be forever in our hearts.
 Love always,
   Pat & Chuck

Aunt Laurel, Alice & Warren,
All our love and prayers to you. May you find peace and comfort in all your wonderful memories of Uncle Art.

Uncle Art, you left a special mark in my childhood memories. We were all touched by your contagious smile and your spunky personality. I remember vividly all the crazy weekends at the "camp". We go back to that same neck of the woods now to pick berries and cut down our Christmas tree, and it always sparks a memory or two of those fun times. I know you are in a special place now looking down on your two favorite "girls".
Love,

Aunt Laurel, Alice & Warren I know that it is a very hard time for you all and I am sending you love and strength. One thing I can feel sure of is he is with my mom and dad and they are taking good care of him. There are many, many good times we can look back on. I surely remember all the times you both had me over the house on weekends when I was younger and all the times he made me laugh. I will always look to those times. Know you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Love

Aunt Laurel, Alice and Warren;
Its hard to believe that Uncle Junior is no longer here. You know how much he meant to me and how much I enjoyed working and being with him. He taught me a very good trade ("among other things") and I am and would be always grateful to him for that. He will be surely missed by me and his memory will live deep inside my heart. Please accept our heartfelt sympathies.

Aunt Laurl, Alice and Warren,
My deepest sympathies to all of you. I was very sadened to hear of your loss. But as the days passed, I began to remember all the wonderful times we had together, especially at the camp. One never knew what Uncle Art would do next, but you knew it would be memorable and funny. This is how I will always remember him.

Love of a lifetime. He said "I do" and he did..

Joe was a very sweet and caring man. I met Joe after working with Laurel at the dr office and can say without a doubt that man loved his sweet wife and daughter to the moon and back. Joe gave his all and never said no to anyone. He was a man of few words, but when he did speak or reached out to you, it was genuine. He took care of me and my family anytime we asked, went over and beyond sometimes. He will be missed by me. To Laurel, Alice, Warren, and to the rest of the grieving family; he will always be with you in your hearts and smile. Thank you guys for letting him be a part of my life. Prayers always, Leslie & Elizabeth Lankist

Laurel and Alice, I know Heaven got brighter when Joe showed up with that smile. I truly believe someday we will all see it again. Until that day comes, take special care of yourselves and each other as he would want you to. Find that peace and happiness that comes with knowing you will someday be reunited. I love you both.

remembering the last time i saw you and Art. On my parents' deck sharing lots of laughs. most of which were initiated by Art. As a child I always thought of Art as my Dad's goofy, funny friend and couldn't wait to visit at your house. Sad to think I won't see him here on earth again. Art always made me smile, and therefore I will smile everytime I think of him. I am so very sorry for your loss Laurel and I hope you are taking care of yourself. I am sure Art wants to see you keep smiling...

Aunt Laurel...mere words cannot console nor relieve your grief. That can only come from the memories of the life that the two of you have shared through the years.... Uncle Art is still here with you in your heart, but I don't think I have to tell you that. But the amazing reality of our very existence, is that he is also Home...a place where there is no suffering, nor tears. A place that was prepared for him while he was yet still in his mothers womb. Fear not, my beloved Aunt, for that is where you will meet again. Live the rest of your life to its fullest, loving everyone you meet...and that I am sure will be easy for you. Love Roger and Colleen

Dearest Pops, Forty two year ago you made my heart whole. On October 23, 2013 my heart was broken because you took a piece of it with you to Heaven. I admired everything you did. By far you are the most influential person in my life. I've always looked up to you, tried to be like you, and be my own person the way you were. You never follow the crowd and you do what you believe is right. I know you're always so humble, but you really deserve an award or something! I loved when you told me corny jokes. You made me so happy. No one has experienced you the way I have. I'm Daddy's little girl and our relationship was priceless. You were really strong and patient. You definitely deserve your seat in heaven. You should be a Saint! Please hold tight the heart you stole and return it when I see you again.
Oh, and I have a joke! What do you get when you put an elephant and a rhino together?
Elephino! (I think).... I love love.
Love Always your little Monkey aka (Albert)
