Father Devine, you are a much loved memory. You served Masses at our church, then went on to say Masses there. Then you were my patient in the hospital, and then your father was my patient. I have a lovely rose gold crucifix you gave to me after the death of your father. Surely he is with God, as are you. I can hardly believe you have left this earth - so young and vital were you in my last memory of you in our sanctuary, with your infectious laugh and lovely red hair. You were a joyful priest.

It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.

So many memories........... They all came rushing back when I saw Father Devine's name in the Obiturary listing. Father Devine was the best thing that ever happened to The Immaculate Conception Church in Hartford. He was quite a man. He guided us to be the best we could be. In March of 1972, when my husband and I got married, he was there to give us his blessing. He will always be remembered as a great pastor.

Our loss is heavens gain!! I will never forget Msgr. Devine he was a special soul. He had a way of getting peoples attention, to say the least. He made my early years special by allowing me to participate in many functions at St. Augustine's. I believe he had a part in my wanting to be involved in so much with the church. He just made you want to get involved and when you did he was very happy and encouraging. He made many people look to our Mother Mary for guidence, that may never have seeked her help before. He is definately someone who's praises should be sung. I will miss his being but always remember him! God bless!!
