Was sadden to hear about the loss of DeDe. He was a good man and the epitome of a gentleman. Many fond memories of DeDe and Joe. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Sorry to hear of the passing of DeDe. Russ and I had the pleasure of being in his company only but a few times, but when we were, he was a pleasure to be around. One of the most influential persons in my life and I will always remember his generosity and friendship. May the good Lord wrap his arms around this most godly man and lovable father and grandfather. He will surely be missed.

DeDe welcomed me into his life as though I were his own grandson when I was 8yrs old. During the few short years I lived in VA, DeDe was the greatest, most fun grandfather a boy could ever imagine. I have such great memories of going over to Carolyn and DeDe's house. I consider many of those memories the highlights of my childhood. He also showed me, through his own example, what it meant to be a hard working, respectable man. His kindness, his generosity and the love that he showed was never, and will never be forgotten. Thank you, Dede. You will be missed and will always live in my heart.

DeDe was truly one of the most influential people in my life. I worked for him from the time I was 14 until 21, at the Mobile home park and various other rental properties. I dont think there was anything DeDe couldnt do. What started out as a grass cutting job turned into much more. He taught me how to paint, plumb, drywall, build, repair furniture, and when there was nothing else to do we cleaned and organized. Oh yeah, did I mention paint? He loved everything to have a fresh coat of paint! What I thought was just a job cutting grass became a friendship. While working he always had a story, a lesson, and sound advice that I remember to this day! DeDe and Mrs Carolyn always treated me like family. Always looking out for me and those amazing sandwiches Mrs Carolyn always made us! DeDes work ethic, moral character, personality and compassion were truly an inspiration to me! My sincere condolences to the entire family! DeDe was an amazing person who will surely be missed.

I have many wonderful memories of DeDe and the entire Edwards family. We moved to Virginia when I was 11 and he always treated me like one of his grandchildren. He was incredibly generous, loving and thoughtful. He made a great impression on me as a young man and I know he will be missed by many. Rest in peace DeDe
