My hero died on Tuesday. When Joey came home from Vietnam, I asked him about what he did there. The only thing he said to me was that he hoped the war was over before I got drafted. I wish we had more time. I love you, Joey.

God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth, And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you, And lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew you were suffering, He knew that you were in pain. He knew that you would never, Get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, And the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids, And whispered, "Peace be thine." It broke our hearts to lose you, But you didn't go alone, For part of us went with you, The day God called you home.

Rosie and Annamarie, so sorry to hear about the passing of your brother. I know what a close knit family you all are, hope you can lean on each other now for comfort.

We lost a great man, a hero to many, but in turn we have gained another guardian angel to watch over us. Uncle Joe, you will always be in my heart thank you for being such a loving part of my life. The boys and I already miss you terribly.

I grew up with Joey. I remember in particular swimming at Smitty's Beach with him, Frankie and the rest of our families. Those times are some of my fondest memories. I am not surprised that he was courageous to the end. He was that kind of person all his life. There was always something about him that just made people smile. My condolences to Aunt Marge and the family. Salute Joey.
