Joseph L. Gallo

Joseph L. "Jo Jo" Gallo, 74, of Newell, passed away Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, in UPMC, Shadyside, with his family by his side. He was born March 2, 1936, in Newell, son of the late Ralph Gallo and the late Sarah McCune Gallo. He was a member of the Historic Church of St. Peter, Brownsville. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Babich Gallo; daughter, Jenifer Jo Gallo Olbrys and husband, Matthew, of Rostraver Township; two sisters, Anna Mae and Catherine Gallo, of Newell; a brother, Alexander Gallo, and wife, Rena, of Texas, and a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Ed Peters, of Fayette City. He was preceded in death by five brothers; Peter, Dominic, Anthony, John and Ralph Gallo, and two sisters, Caroline Massari and Carmella Masterann. Friends will be received Monday, Dec. 20, from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the ELEY-MCCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, (724) 326-5621, www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com, and Wednesday, Dec. 22, until 9:15 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. in the Historic Church of St. Peter, Brownsville, with the Rev. Micah E. Kozoil as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
