Dearest Harriet, Todd, Paul and Joe,
Holly and I were deverstated to learn on November 13th of Joe's passing. We will always remember the good times especially the wonderful Christmas Party you gave for Joe and his friends and family every year. Joe was always there for us as was Todd and we shall forever be grateful for their support. May god bless you all. Holly said that uncle Joe is now in heaven playing Bocce with her dad, charlie.

Harriet and your wonderful family. Every day since this site appeared, I tried to write remembrances of Joe. I just couldn't do it. I couldn't believe he had actually left us. And I became depressed. Today is the day. I need to say this.
No words can express the deepest sympathy I feel for you all. But I will try.
Just to know Joe, was a joy. He always made you feel important, no matter who you were. A truly selfless, caring man always with a twinkle in his eye. Every time my mother had a party it was always, "Don't forget to invite Joe and Harriet".
She loved you both so much. And all the trips poor Joe had to make to So. Bow St. to pick up food that mom had made for them. The many times my dad would look forward to stimulating conversations with Joe.
Your husband leaves a void in all our lives, Harriet. May God carry you all, through this difficult time.

Paul and family,
I'm sorry for your loss. Although I never met your Dad, His obituary honored him as a very respectable man who had a deep connection to family and community.
I'm sorry I was not able to attend the wake to pay my respects.
God bless your dads' soul and I hope you are doing well.

To the Gattoni family
We offer our sympathies over the great loss you are facing. A kinder, more gentle man would be hard to find. Our favorite memory...Joe drinking mint juleps(?) on Main street at the races in Saratoga with an obvious twinkle in his eye.

In 1955 I was a Boy Scout in Troop 6 in Milford. The troop was going to Camp Resolute for a week. My family could not afford the $25 fee and I would be staying home. Joe Gatonni heard about this and paid my way that year. I will be forever grateful to him for that gesture. Because of that, I still pay for a child to go to a summer camp whenever I can.

Your husband and dad was a truly wonderful man. Our family considered him a friend as well as our lawyer. As I drove past his house on Friday I thought of him and wondered how he was doing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I will always have kind thoughts for a very kind and gentle man who always had time for other people .
