JOSEPH R.
Of Everett, died December 4, 2004. He was born January 1, 1917 in Pittsburgh; a son of the late Theodore and step-mother Hedwig (Andrzejczak) Grance. On October 6, 1947 he married Lillian Rosella Smith. She preceded him in death on July 30, 2001. He is survived by two sons, Tom Grance and Jerry Grance; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Henry & Ronie. He was preceded in death by son, Robert; sister, Laura Reed; and brother, Ed. Mr. Grance was a founding member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Everett. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and was a graduate of St. Mary of the Mount High School, Mount Washington. He and his wife owned and operated Everett Amusements, a company that included The Everett Theater, The Everett Restaurant & Lounge, The Everett Hotel & Apartments, The Everett Dance Hall, Pool Hall and Bowling Alley. Working with his father, Theodore, he operated over 123 drive-in movie theatres throughout the state. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at 2:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Everett with Rev. Norman Imgrund officiating. Interment will be held at the St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Bedford.
