Joseph P. Hoar

I met General Hoar while going to college at UCSD with his daughter in the early 1980s; he was a very intelligent, friendly, outgoing, and a humorous family man, and always the General when I would visit their home. May he Rest in Peace.

He was my Company Commander at M-co 3rd Bn 2nd Mar Reg 2nd Mar Div. Back in 1965-66. I was one of his company radio operators. He was a great leader and loved the Corps. R.I.P.Sir. You will always be remembered by all your men. He passed on my 75th b-day.

Far well my ol friend...you made an ginormous difference in this world, and more so in this Marines life, as young Sergeant, to an old LDO. You will be missed by many!
