Joseph Hollier

Hollier --Joseph, 67, Ashland, died Sunday (11/02/03) after a courageous, five-year battle with colon cancer. Born near Carencro, La., Feb. 5, 1936, to Wilfred and Editha (Lanclos) Hollier. Spent 13 years in the U.S. Air Force; schooled in missile systems analysis, refrigeration, firefighting and aircraft crash and rescue, and intelligence. Honorably discharged in 1965. A&P mechanic, factory schools on Learjet, Swearingen, Turbo Commander, Beechcraft, Hawker, Cessna Citation and Cessna 300/400 series aircraft. Worked for Dynalectron Corp., Fort Worth, Texas; Riley Turbostream, Waco, Texas; Duncan Aviation, Lincoln; and Airsearch Aviation, Houston, before becoming an FAAinspector working in Kansas City, Mo., and Lincoln. Joe retired in 2001, hoping to devote his time to gardening, hunting and fishing. He loved to cook for his family as well.

Survivors: wife, Anita, Ashland; son, Joey Hollier, Vidor, Texas; daughter, son-in-law, Jeanette and Robert Sell, Lincoln, Jolene Hollier and fiance Luke Sweigert, both Ashland; granddaughter, Kathlean Sell, Lincoln.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Marcy Mortuary, Ashland. Ashland Cemetery. Visitation:4-8 p.m. today, with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m., funeral home. Memorials: family.
