Joseph "Joe" Alan Jackman

August 17, 1960 - April 14, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph "Joe" Alan Jackman, who passed away unexpectedly on April 14, 2025, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Born in Donora, Pennsylvania on August 17, 1960, where he attended school there. He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting. Joe spent most of his life in North Carolina. He was 64 years old.

He enjoyed his work as a Financial Controller for Belt Concepts where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. Joe took on many job responsibilities and cared enough to touch base with everyone at the company. The life he built beyond work was what truly defined him. He had a unique enthusiasm for trivia and anything involving Pittsburgh sports. Whether it was the Pirates, Penguins or Steelers he always proudly wore his "Black and Gold". Joe was very kind and jovial and tried to bring laughter to those around him throughout his life. Joe had a passion for community involvement which was evident through his various roles with the Greensboro Jaycees. The annual golf tournament was a highlight he loved to volunteer at.

Joe was the son of the late Joseph D. Jackman and Marion E. Jackman. Those remaining to cherish his memory are his amazing and deeply-loved son, Brian Jackman (25), Washington-Crossing, PA; brother, Jeff (Angela) Jackman of Summerfield, NC; sister, Jennifer (Todd) Edmiston, of Latrobe, PA; nephew, Jeffrey (Lindsey) Jackman, of Greensboro, NC; his niece(s) Nicole (Taylor) Sloan, of Concord, NC and Amanda Jackman, of Summerfield, NC; and all of his many friends that he loved so dearly and who dearly loved him back.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Bearded Bee Brewery in Wendell, NC on Saturday, May 17th from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Red Cross.

I just heard the sad news. I knew Joe professionally and just wanted to pass on my heartfelt thoughts and prayers to his family. Joe was great to work with and so helpful during our interactions. I know that he will be missed greatly, so sorry to his friends and family.

Joe was a volunteer with the Jaycees in Greensboro way back in the 90s when I participated in the NC Junior Miss program. He was kind and brought a lot of positive energy - and he was very dedicated to volunteering. I know he will be missed dearly by those who loved him.

I worked with Joe closely for the last five years. His sudden loss is heartbreaking, and it's hard to accept he's gone. Joe was a kind, compassionate, and dedicated worker who will be deeply missed.

I used to play basketball with Joe in Greensboro back in the 90´s. Since then we would occasionally see each other at holiday parties held by a mutual friend. Joe was a nice and caring guy and he will be missed by many. RIP my friend.

I had the honor and pleasure of getting to know Joe over the last 5 years. We talked often on the phone. I was absolutely shocked when I had found out of his passing. I had just spoken to him a few days prior to that. He definitely made the world a better place. My prayers go out to his family and friends. May God give you all peace and comfort.
