Dear Jody,

I was saddened to learn of the passing of your Dad. Your tribute to him is beautiful, your words are both touching and eloquent. Learning of his passing, for me, really does mark the end of an era. I grew up in Orono on Oak Street. When I was a young girl, I met your Dad. I got to see first hand what a special, remarkable human being he was. With infinite care, a steady hand and great compassion, he guided my family through some of the darkest, most difficult days of our lives. I have never forgotten him. I never will. He was a wonderful man, and he had a beautiful family.

Thank you, Jody, for sharing your Dad with all of us.

I got to know Joe during my early years at PVCC playing twi-lite league. He and
Jim Degrasse were always a lot of fun. As we had similar handicaps, I would
enjoy our matches once or twice per year.

Hello Jody, Sorry to hear about your Dad, he was a great man ! I remenber when I mowed amd maintained the lawn at LaBeau Chapel he wanted it just right .
I have to chuckle when he walked down the street in Orono, asking people how we doing today ? like he was looking for a customer...lol
Yes Jody you and your family has made your mark here in Orono , we will never forget the LaBeau family .

Jody: So sorry to read about your dad. What a wonderful tribute that you have written: brought back many fond memories of your mom and dad, as well as Judy and you. Our town lost a valuable family when your folks moved closer to you and Judy. Joe and Lois are together again, as it should be. They are fondly remembered.

I was a green ambulance attendent on Mr. Labeau's ambulance/hearst also I did a little weeding in there garden behind the Labeau chapel,and of course have gone to a few to many funerals there,you lived a good long life joe LaBeau rest in peace

You may recall your Dad's expression of consternation in Shirley Stinson's back field when I made off with the melted butter that he intended for the lobster he was boiling on a campfire.
Your dad was very good to me on our Deer Isle camping trips and I want you to know that I think of you and him each time I pass the Myrtle Street House. Best wishes and sincere condolences. I hope that our paths cross soon.

Joe and Lois were a wonderful couple; friendly, considerate of others, and generous. Jody, your writing honors your father well and rekindles many fond memories. A flood of fond memories is testament to a life well lived.

In the days before the existence of the Orono Rescue Squad Joe provided ambulance transport to the hospital in Bangor and was one of the last people to talk to my Dad as he drove Dad to EMMC 'between' heart attacks. We were grateful that Dad had such a warm and friendly person accompanying him. My condolences.
