I am sorry for the loss of Joe. I will fondly remember him and Alverna from the Renaissance Festival when baking Alice's blueberry muffins in his muffin stone. Until we meet again.

Joe was one of the coolest guys I've ever known. He was so fun to have a teacher and even more fun to have as a friend. We'll miss you Mr. Leach. You were quite the character.

What a wonderful man & friend Joe was to our family. I grew up knowing how talented & humerous he was. He made art class so enjoyable, it was a pleasure & great experience to be a part of his life. He gave my parents many of his creations over the years "rejects" he called them. The finish wasn't quite right or there was some flaw.We of course, never could find the error. He was a masterpiece. Always brightened my day when we had a chance to visit! Wish I could be there for his Send-off. He will make heaven a more COLORFULL place to be.
Love to you all. Ann Bergeron McCoy

Mr. Leach was an incredibly powerful influence in my early education. He taught with patience, enthusiasm and charm, and opened our eyes to new ways of expression, both our own and that of others. I remember how he incorporated our reading of MacBeth into the work we were doing in his class, resulting in some really interesting pieces we put into the center hall display case for a brief period. While it is likely to be my only gallery show, I remember how proud I was of the opportunity. We were fortunate to have him as a teacher.

Joe was a wonderful teacher. I just don't rememeber him having all that gray hair. I had a great time in that dungeon he called a classroom in old Mel-Hi. I graduated in '64 and it is sad too see all my great old teachers leave this world. But Joe made a mark on this world that was uniquely his and he will be missed but always remembered by his former studets.
