I'm Joe's, little Joe, remembering my grandpap's brother I called uncle Joe. I always felt special when meeting uncle Joe, because we shared the same name. It made me feel like I was somebody or that I was meeting an older version of myself that one day I going to look like; like that's what I'm going to look like if I get old, lol... I didn't mind having the same name and I'm glad I did.

My sympathies to the family, and all that knew him.
All of us know what a unique, special person he was and how it puts a smile in your heart whenever you think of him. In 1976, as a 13 year-old new to the neighborhood, it was a great experience being introduced to a family so large and so full of love that they had no problems sharing that love with all the friends of their children. It was a rich experience that only gets more valuable with time. He was a true 'Captain' of that ship and along with his 'First Mate' they did an outstanding job of providing a stable, steady voyage. I will miss his no-nonsense/direct commentary, his sense of humor and the infectious laugh. He was a true man's man and a great role model. May God Bless.
