Joseph Paul Marcello, III, 59, died June 29, 2016. Chef Joey of Old Timers Restaurant in Millington. Preceded in death by father, Joseph Paul Marcello, Jr.; mother, Anastasia Cuccia Marcello; and father-in-law, George W. James, Jr. Survived by wife, Wanda "Kay" James Marcello; sons, Jeremy Ross Marcello & Joseph Paul Marcello, IV; daughter, Melissa Delatte of Metairie, LA; granddaughter, Savannah Faith Marcello; brother, Samuel Marcello, Sr.; sister, Louise Crossland Marcello; niece, Victoria "Tori" Crossland; nephews, Samuel Marcello, Jr., Vincent Vazquez & Marc Vazquez; great nephew, Aiden Vazquez; mother-in-law, Granny Alberta James; sisters-in-law, Rhonda James Vazquez & Darlene Jarreau Marcello; and lots of friends & family in Millington and NOLA. Millington: Visitation from 10 a.m., with funeral services following at 12:00 noon on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Millington Civic Center, 8077 Wilkinsville Rd., Millington, TN 38053. New Orleans: Visitation from 11:30 a.m., with the funeral mass following at 1:30 p.m. on July 19, 2016 at St. Mary's Italian Church, 1100 Chartres St., New Orleans, LA 70116. In lieu of flowers, please donate to our church parish, St. Williams Catholic Church, 4932 Easley St., Millington, TN 38053.

I knew you as a student at The Culinary Institute of America when I was Director of Public Relations there. You invited me to your hometown of New Orleans, and that fostered a great love in me for your city. Eventually I even established a branch of my PR business there and had a home there as well. I remember you as a kind and generous man.

Joey was a true friend to all who were graced to know him. He had charisma and a genuine love for his life and for all those he knew. I will carry our conversations for the rest of my days as I am sure everyone else can still hear his voice and remember his kindness. Gone from us too early, but awaits our reunion.
