I met Joe at a metal shaper seminar in California in 1990/91. Joe was the kindest, intelligent, person I had met. He flew from St Louis to Boston on more than one occasion to help me with a shared personal interest. His helpfulness and positive attitude was inspiring. I loved and respected Joe and will miss him greatly. He was the best of the best.

I was devastated to hear about Joe's illness, as he and I partnered while working for Universal Audio. I knew how passionate/excited he was about relocating to be closer to family. And now to hear that he has passed away, and at such a young age, my heart is broken. I am so sorry for the loss the family is experiencing and I hope that Joe is at peace and without pain. I can hear him strumming his guitar strings as he lounges on a comfy cloud above us. RIP Joe and thanks for the amazing talent and passion you gifted us. You are missed and will always be remembered!!!!

This is the Rod & Custom "Dream Truck." Joe took the photo in the early 1990's for a magazine article. The photo location is the Coral Courts, a famous "no tell" motel in St Louis. Joe got to drive the truck that day. This truck provided a significant source of inspiration for Joe's Studebaker project.
