McPherson, Joseph F. - Of Burlington, formerly of Somerville, passed away on November 17, 2022.
Beloved husband of Anne-Marie (Viola) McPherson.
Loving father of Ryan McPherson and his wife Lynne of Burlington and Matthew McPherson of Cambridge.
Dear brother of William, Robert, James and Edward McPherson, Mary Graham, the late Cindy McPherson and Joseph's twin brother John McPherson.
Cherished grandfather of Chase, Marin and Rose.
If there was an organization looking for volunteers, Joseph was the first to sign up. He did so much for the town of Burlington. He coached youth sports, he raised money for Pop Warner, High School Athletic and Band Boosters, and was a driving force behind the yearly post-graduation party. After his cancer diagnosis in 2014, Joseph focused his attention to raising money for Dana Farber through the yearly Jimmy Fund Walk. His team "I'm With Joe" has raised over $350,000 to date in the fight against cancer, and the team will continue to raise more every year in his honor.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Joseph, in St. Margaret Church, 111 Winn Street, Burlington, Monday morning at 10:00a.m., family and friends please meet at church.
Relatives and friends invited.

We would like to offer our condolences to the McPherson family. Joe was such a great, warm, and loving person. He always had a smile on his face. I used to see him at the post office and the bank all the time, and have a nice chat. He knew my boys from sports and the Burlington schools. He will surely be missed.. Chris and Gerry McCarthy

Here’s to Joe larger than life, a force of nature, and stranger to no one. I’m so lucky to have met him & Anne-Marie on an unforgettable dream vacation to Italy years ago. He was our tour mascot!
I SO wish I could be celebrating his life and hearing stories from those who love & honor him.
Thank you for your friendship and fun. ♥
