Joseph C. Medisch
93, Indianapolis, passed away May 31, 2014. Born February 22, 1921 in Dayton, Ohio to Conrad and Anna Medisch, he was a US Navy veteran of WWII and was a charter member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church. He retired from General Motors after 30 years.
An avid reader, he also enjoyed gardening, puzzles, and tinkering.He was a devoted, loving father who always showed great compassion and patience.
He will be loved and missed by his children, Karen (Ed) Crisp, Jolene (John) Hill, Susan (Bob) Vania, Jackie (Jeff) Paullin, Jenny (George) Fleetwood; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Medisch.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Phyllis Medisch; son, Leo Medisch and siblings, Frank, Adam, Catherine, George, Ann, Nicholas, Conrad.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 3 at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home , 5141 Madison Avenue. Prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, June 4 at the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. at St. Barnabas Catholic Church. Please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of Joe Medisch. I really enjoyed meeting Uncle Joe two years ago, what a great man he was.
