Joseph Motta, 91, a resident of Port St. Lucie, departed this life Tuesday, January 20, 2015.
Mr. Motta was preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Lucinda Furtado Motta, who was his elementary school sweetheart and love of his life. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Robert Alonzo Rose.
Mr. Motta is survived by his children, JoAnn Rose, and her husband, Charles, Russell Motta, and his wife, Christine, and Gail Carreira, and her husband, William; grandchildren, Charles Joseph Rose, and his wife, Lisa, Chad Thomas Rose, Rhonda Martin, and her husband, Phil, Russell J. Motta, Jr., and Shannon Carreira-Sykes, and her husband, Peter; sister, Rosalind Medeiros; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Motta was a veteran of the United States Army and his passions were fishing and square dancing.
Services will be held at a later date in Fall River, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable contribution to Treasure Coast Hospice, at 5090 Northwest Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981.
