This is hard to put into words but the affect Mr. Pecorino had on me is extremely vast. Easily the best teacher I had all through high school and being in his class was more than a joy. He is someone who I learned from every time I was around him and he will certainly be missed by myself and all of his former students. I was lucky enough to grow close to Joe and for that I am truly grateful. Rest easy Mr. P. I send my regards to all his family and friends as he was a truly great man.

My one year with Mr. Pecorino for chemistry was memorable with various anecdotes and miscellaneous facts that he easily fit into his daily lessons. I still remember the day he told us the history of Colgate and Post-it notes like yesterday. He encouraged us when we were in doubt and expected nothing out of us but the best. I'm disappointed in that I wish I had another year with him, another year to laugh and learn with him. His character is irreplaceable, and he will be missed very much.

In the four months I spent in Mr. Pecorino's class he took the time to get to know his students. At first we weren't sure what to make of Mr. P but needless to say that by the time he announced he was leaving we were already attached to Mr. P, he was an amazing man, truely one of a kind, with a unique personality and a good heart. I will never forget a lot of the things he said to us all, the most important one being "Live for your own approval, nobody else's. Never ask 'are you proud of me,' the question is, 'are you proud of yourself?'" Mr. Pecorino you will be missed, you were someone who is only found once in a lifetime.

You will be missed and I'll think of you everytime I hear the word "Pal". Fran and I will cherish the memories of our dinners together with you and Julie and Carl and Cookie. May you rest in peace.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
