2019. Joe has gone but his parents are there with him, and his wife Winnie and his little sister Mary, or Sissy. I still remember the days in French Village and also at weddings and events in Kansas and years ago in Nashville when Michelins was a baby in a high chair. Joe was one cousin close to my Mom, La Thera Wohlrab McCracken, in age and and had some memories of the old Cahokia and the Jerome farm where the mail was delivered at the end of a long driveway that seemed like a mile when walking.

Dearest Winnie and family,
I am grateful to cousin Barbara Sicher Kelley because she was kind enough to send me the sad news about dear Joe. I was fortunate to meet him in Nashville when my parents, Andy and Cecilia Clark visited you both. Since I remarried and have been living in Germany since 2004 I will not be able to be with you during this sad time. However, dear Winnie, you and all your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Love and deepest sympathy to all, Cousin Joan Clark Koch. April 12, 2012.

Joe and Winne have been our neighbors for over 15 years and have been wonderful neighbors and friends. Joe's loss will be felt far beyond our neighborhood.

Joe was my oldest cousin and we both grew up in Illinois. At one time, Aunt Sue and Uncle Joe, Joe's parents and family, lived on the street above us, McCrackens Orville and LaThera and me, Sandy, in French Village.
Joe has helped a lot with the family genealogy and was always interested in history and lived part of it. He remembered in 1936 Central Catholic School where he was a student, was on a holiday as a train carrying the Roosevelts was coming through and he was given a bouquet to hand to Eleanor Roosevelt which made his day although he was a Republican.
